Rio Tinto Earth Assist
What is Earth Assist?
Rio Tinto Earth Assist is a fully funded (FREE!) program aimed at Western Australian secondary school students and teachers, and provides hands on environmental volunteering opportunities in WA's parks and bushlands.
We provide everything the students, teacher and school needs to create a unique volunteering experience on local conservation projects.
The program has been developed in response to a substantial increase in demand for volunteer activities targeted at secondary school students. Many schools are realising the value that volunteering has to offer students as well as the greater community.
The Rio Tinto Earth Assist program is managed and supervised by Conservation Volunteers Australia - Australia's leading volunteer based conservation organisation. Within the Rio Tinto Earth Assist program we have community service programs, Curriculum Council endorsed programs and accredited units which can all be completed and used to gain credit on students' WACE.
The program is supported by the Rio Tinto Future Fund (WA) and works in partnership with the Department of Environment & Conservation and the Department of Education & Training.
